Hi, I’m David China Woolf — but everyone just calls me China. Born in 1963, which means I’ve had decades to collect stories… and tell them.
A lot...
My friends have mastered the art of stopping me mid story. Their loss — the punchline is always the next sentence.
By profession, I’m a driver. By nature, I’m a storyteller. Books, movies, theater — if it has a story, I’m hooked. In the early ’90s, I somehow ended up with a hard copy of the screenplay for A Clockwork Orange. Did it change my life? Maybe not dramatically — but it definitely rewired the way I see cinema. I realized one simple truth: everything begins with the story.
During my bachelor’s degree, I took a whole parade of film and screenwriting courses — enough to convince me that storytelling isn’t just something I enjoy, it’s something I have to do. Since then, I’ve joined countless workshops, seminars, and writing sessions. I write in both Hebrew and English, which is fun considering my brain insists on thinking in Hebrew. But I love the challenge — writing is the one place where I never hit the brakes.
Today, I have six full‑length screenplays under my belt, a few shorts, and plenty of new stories in the works.
Recently, I adapted one of them — I Am Norah Fields — into a novella now available on Amazon. So yes, I’m officially a published author. A title with surprisingly heavy shoulders.
And through all of this, I just keep writing. Stories don’t stop coming — and I don’t plan to stop telling them.
Torn between the father she adores and the justice she fights for, a fierce advocate for women's rights must confront a devastating truth.
